Oodles the monkey is full of ideas – OVER 20 MILLION POSSIBLE IDEAS, to be exact! He's quite enthusiastic about typing away, coming up with new ideas all day long. While it might take a monkey with a typewriter a significant amount of time to write Shakespeare's complete works, not all of Oodles' ideas are destined to become Hollywood blockbusters. However, in such a vast pool of ideas, there are certainly some hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Who knows, perhaps you'll stumble upon Oodles' next million-dollar idea...

The Ideas Machine is a straightforward yet powerful tool that has the capacity to generate over 20 million ideas suitable for story writing, illustration, workshops, games, and activities. Simply press Oodles for an endless source of inspiration!

To utilize The Ideas Machine, select the desired idea mode and then press Oodles the monkey to receive a fresh idea on that particular theme. If the idea doesn't resonate with you, press him again (and again) for an almost infinite stream of unique ideas! It's highly unlikely that you'll see the same idea twice. Once you've chosen an idea, use it as a starting point to craft a story, make a drawing, act it out – or apply it however you wish!

There are different modes tailored for various audiences: Kids Mode for child-friendly picture book ideas and 12+ Mode for those with a more extensive vocabulary. Additionally, there's a Location Mode to assist with generating ideas for story settings.

Age ranges provided are approximate guidelines. The content has been curated to be family-friendly, but for younger children, we recommend sticking to Kids Mode.

• What can I use The Ideas Machine for?

The Ideas Machine can be used in various creative settings such as workshops, games, drama groups, story writing sessions, and character ideation.

The app doesn't require an internet connection to function, making it convenient for use during workshops and while on the go.

Can I Save my Ideas?

Currently, there isn't an option to save ideas within the app. The recommended method is to capture your idea as an image by taking a screenshot on your device; this image will then be saved to your camera roll in the Photos app. Refer to Apple's device manual for guidance on how to carry out this simple process.

The Ideas Machine was conceived by artist Dave Gray for workshops and events. The original Ideas Machine was a physical contraption complete with flashy lights and quirky components. Both children and adults enjoyed using it so much that Dave decided to transform it into an app to allow everyone to enjoy generating ideas.
